Dutchess County Sheep and Wool Festival

Getting ready to go to the Dutchess County Sheep and Wool Festival in Rhinebeck, NY on Saturday and Sunday. The weather doesn’t look great, but I am sure we will have an inspiring weekend. I am just visiting this year. I will keep trying to get accepted as a vendor.

Finger Lakes Fiber Arts and Craft Show

Hats off to the organizers of the Finger Lakes Fiber Arts and Craft Show (aka Hemlock Fiber Festival). Another well organized, well run show. Great weather this year, along with wonderful vendors, fabulous fiber and products, great demonstrations and a welcoming atmosphere. If you have never checked out this Western New York treasure, give it a try!

Wisconsin!

I am in Madison, Wisconsin on personal business, but I can’t ever stay away from fiber and fiber people. I met Erin Egan from Offbeat Acres a few days ago, and am planning on visiting the Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival on Friday. I am looking forward to meeting current and future customers as well as vendors from the Midwest.

What’s new at East Valley Alpacas / The Fiber Factory

Greetings, and welcome to the first entry in the new blog from East Valley Alpacas.  I am Wendy Dailey, owner.  East Valley Alpacas just completed its fifth year of operation.  We are a full service Belfast Mini Mill located in rural western New York State.  We added  66″ FeltLOOM in 2010, and needle felting has become a huge component of our business.  Felt can range in thickness from from sheer to substantial, and it can be with or without silk structure.  Pieces of silk can be made to size specifications, or it can be made into continuous yardage.  Finally, pieces can be squared and edged, making finished scarves and blankets.

If you have any ideas or questions, feel free to contact us anytime.  I love to talk to current or new customers about fiber!  Our e-mail is eastvalleyalpacas@yahoo.com, and our phone number is 607-382-7811.
